Even though ‘Kites’ got an opening of 70% in it’s first, we started dropping down in terms of both collections and occupancy. A lot reason are responsible for it’s failure at the box office. Language barrier in a country like India is a major turn off for the audiences and hence the movie lost it’s hold on the B and C towns immediately! Metros are still showing some signs of an average business, but it cannot get more than 50% business during the second weekend! Watch the video to find out more!

Director Anurag Basu is here with us in an exclusive interview commenting on the reported leak of the story of his “Kites”.

A love story about an Indian man’s affair with a Latin woman and their predicament as they don’t understand each other’s language, “Kites” is about their thrilling journey filled with precious moments and unexpected betrayal. Releasing simultaneously in Hindi and English May 21 in over 60 countries, it has been produced by Hrithik’s filmmaker-father Rakesh Roshan and will be distributed and marketed by Reliance BIG Pictures.

Hrithik Roshan and his gorgeous wifey Suzzane Roshan stepped out for a cause, and in sizzling style, for the premiere of Breast Cancer docudrama “1 a Minute” in Mumbai recently. Dressed in a black Velvet jacket, faded jeans and white tee, Hrithik sent hearts aflutter. While his gorgeous wife Sussanne looked an absolute stunner in a single shoulder dress and animal print shoes.

The film’s premiere was organized by Priya Dutt in association with Nargis Dutt Memorial Charity Trust (NDMCT), but Priya’s brother Sanjay Dutt was a no show. Portions of profits from each ticket sale of “1 a Minute” will be donated to NDMCT with the aim to raise awareness and supporting the social cause in India.

Finally, we know why Kites is called Kites! Rakesh Roshan & Anurag Basu, makers of Kites,have shared the inspiration behind their films title. The title and story of Kites is the brainchild of Rakesh Roshan. The idea for Kites came to me when I was gazing at the sky and saw two kites flying, notes Rakesh Roshan. It looked very romantic. It was very intriguing–the way they came close, played, almost embraced each other and then drew apart. Unaware that someone else was pulling the strings and could cut them loose. I sat down and penned a story around this idea.

Kites is the metaphor of the film. Kites fly against the wind and not with it, stronger the wind blows, higher the kites fly, adds Anurag Basu who penned the screenplay and directed the film. Our protagonists in the movie too face obstacles; their love grows deeper with every increasing obstacle.
